Nokia 6 Review : Android is clean and resilient!
Nokia has
finally brought its three latest smartphone products to the country.
Specifically, Nokia 3, 5, and 6. These three devices are at the same time their
returning products in the country that are expected to succeed again as in the
era of feature phones.
We had the
opportunity to review one of three phones, namely Nokia 6. This device costs 3
million, which of course will compete with other smartphones in that price
range, such as Moto G5S Plus, MiA1, as well as ASUS Zen fone 4 Mak Pro.
Coming up
lately compared to three smartphones, of course it becomes quite a difficult
homework for Nokia, especially since the three smartphones are quite successful
by offering a number of "gacoan" features to choose from each of its
enthusiasts. What about the Nokia 6? After inspection.
Design
In terms of
design, we can say that Nokia's design has its own characteristics, which makes
it quite different from most smartphones today. What is clear is that if you
miss the glory of Nokia mobile phones with super stubborn built-in quality, we
have to admit that Nokia is capable of bringing it back to the latest
smartphone products this time around.
The Nokia 6
carries a body with aluminum metallic material as a whole, with a frame that is
also made of metal and feels very sturdy and sturdy. This device has a pretty
clear box feel in every corner. Every corner polished with chrome makes it
elegant. However, the angle shape that is too square makes it a little less
comfortable to hold because it stiffens in the axles. The durability of the
front panel is also guaranteed by the Gorilla Glass 3 protective screen, which
also has a 2.5D contour.
The
fingerprint is on the front located in the home button and there are two more
navigation buttons, back on the left and recent apps on the right. Nokia uses
the position of the keys to navigate to Android standards, even if installed
off-screen. For some people familiar with this position, it may be helpful,
while for others familiar with the button back to the right side to be a bit of
a hassle. And I'm a user who's used to the back button on the right, it's a
little uncomfortable with this layout. But this is of course not a problem,
only better if the user can personalize the position of the back button and
recent apps as they wish. When it comes to fingerprints, somehow the cross
section of the sensor is very small, but luckily it doesn't really affect the
response of the fingerprint itself.
On the back,
the camera sensor is in the middle with a slightly protruding module. The Nokia
logo is mounted vertically below the camera sensor, which has become a feature
of Nokia since the Lumia era. There are antenna bands located at the top and
bottom for cellular signal spacing.
When you
turn to the physical key, the Nokia 6 has a power button and a volume key on
the right. While the SIM Card slot is on the left. The Nokia 6 has a hybrid
type of Dual SIM Card with a micro type, whereby the SIM card 2 can be used
interchangeably with the Micro SD slot. While on the underside there is a Micro
USB slot and speaker grill. It's pretty inconvenient that the Nokia 6 still
uses the Micro USB slot, while many smartphones use USB Type C. But the
advantage is that users can still use their old accessories like charger cables
and USB OTG.
Specifications
From the
specifications offered, the Nokia 6 cannot be said to be special. Among other
things, using a 5.5-inch Full HD resolution IPS display, the SoC Snapdragon 430
(Octa-Core A53 1.4 GHz + Adreno 505 GPU). The variant we are reviewing is with
3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
For camera
features, the Nokia 6 has a main camera with a 16MP sensor, a f / 2.0 aperture
and a pixel size of 1.0 µm, and comes with a two-tone flash and auto-focus
detection phase. While the front camera is equipped with an 8 MP f / 2.0
aperture sensor and a 1.2 µm sensor size. There is no flash function on the
front camera. Video recording can support up to Full HD 1080p resolution of
both front and rear cameras.
For sensor
completeness, Nokia 6 is quite complete. These include accelerometer, compass,
proximity, ambient light, pedometer and gyro. Of course, a fingerprint sensor
on the front as a function of security and user authorization. As this device
is also equipped with Android Pai feature, although it is not yet available in
Indonesia.
In terms of
connectivity, fortunately the Nokia 6 is quite adequate. In addition to
supporting 4G LTE networks in both slots, this device also supports 5GHz Vi-Fi
connectivity. Not only that, the Nokia 6 is also equipped with NFC features,
which are a must-have feature on mid- and upper-class smartphones. Optional FM
radio, provides additional multimedia features for users.
In power
management, the Nokia 6 has a 3000m Ah battery. But for charging it is only
equipped with an adapter with a 5V 2A output. This device also does not support
the fast charge function.
Nokia 6
adopts Pure Android operating system with Nougat 7.1 version. Nokia really
relies on this pure version of Android as one of its strengths. Nokia promises
faster Android updates and a more secure security system as security patches
will be available more regularly.
Meanwhile,
Nokia 6's sales package is pretty complete. These include the warranty card
manual, USB cable, charger adapter and headset. The Nokia 6 is also bundled
with Indosat Ooredoo's 4G starter card.
